Dear Band Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season with their families. I would like to welcome you back to the second half of the school year. For those who attended the Winter Concert, you can see that our band program at Liberty is moving in the right direction and the students are perfecting their skills in music.
We have several ensembles for the students to participate in. The Symphonic Band comprises students who play at the highest level in the band. The Concert Band is comprised of band students who play at a Level 1. Both of these bands will be participating in the GMEA LGPE Middle School Band Festival, March 18-23, 2016 and in competition performing at the Star Music Festival on the Riverside EpiCenter on May 14, 2016. We would really appreciate your attendance and support at both events. Other events scheduled for the year are the Spring Concert, 6thGrade Picnic and the annual Band Awards Night.
Our present situation is that we need funds to carry out these events for the experiences and success of our children. We will have fundraisers and asking each parent to help by paying a $40.00 fee for 6th graders and a $70.00 fee for 7th and 8th graders. This can be paid using a 4 month payment plan. This fee will be used for band festival fees, bus transportation, trophies and awards, and food for the picnic and award night.
There will be a monthly band meeting to keep everyone informed on how we are meeting our target goal. Thank you so much for your support of your child and the LMS band Program. One of the key elements for success of any band program is parental involvement. Parental support is the most important factor in the success of any band student.
